City of Ottawa Eccolands Boat Launch Rehabilitation

The project is the rehabilitation of the existing public boat launch at Eccolands Park which provides access to the Rideau Canal. The project involves removing the existing launch ramp and replacing it with a double lane, pre-cast and cast in place concrete boat launch. The added length and width will increase the boat launch footprint by 87.2m2 on the bed of the Rideau Canal.


Latest update

April 9 2026 – Parks Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Parks Canada is inviting public comments until May 9 2026 respecting that determination.
