Backflow Preventer Wastewater Capture Tank

The project involves the construction/installation of a campus backflow preventer, including a  200 000 L fiberglass wastewater capture tank at the CFIA Ottawa Fallowfield Laboratory located at 3851 Fallowfield Road, Ottawa, Ontario. The project includes the construction of a new 4.5m x 6.2m building to house the installation of a backflow preventer, piping and electrical infrastructure, and an underground waste water capture tank.  The purpose of the tank is to capture wastewater in situations where a backflow preventer failure occurs. In the event that the backflow preventer is activated, the gravity-fed tank will fill and will be pumped out by a licensed hauler and disposed off-site at an approved facility after the event. The types of activity for this project include civil work, welding, piping, mechanical, electrical, excavation, and general soil & materials handling.
