YUL Montreal-Trudeau International Airport - Addition of a storage space for Ground Service Equipment (GSE)

The project involves the development of a parking and charging space for ground service vehicles (GSE). An 8000 m2 asphalt surface will be developed on an already mineralized surface, located on the west side of the airport, currently used as a parking lot for snow removal vehicles. It will allow the parking of 50 vehicles. It will have 20 EV charging stations and 18 charging stations will be added after 2025. The area will be partially covered in order to provide weather protection for more critical equipment. The new space allows handlers and carriers to have a greater number of GSEs available on the secure side, which will increase the efficiency of airport operations. This development is part of the objective of decarbonizing activities by electrifying 100% of ground support vehicles by 2030 as set out in Sustainability Plan 1.0, Together towards a Sustainable Future.
