Multi-site Dock Replacements, Thousand Islands National Park

This project will involve dock work at multiple locations throughout Thousand Islands National Park.  Specifically, work will include installation of floating docks to replace docks that are were damaged due to recent high water levels and to replace docks that are at the end of their life cycle.  The new docks will be designed to accommodate higher water levels.  Associated work includes installation of in-water/shoreline anchoring systems and installation of boardwalks and kiosks at shore landing points.  Replacements and/or minor location adjustments of mooring buoy anchors may also be carried out where necessary. Dock project locations include Adelaide Island, East Grenadier Island, Georgina Island, Constance Island, Mulcaster Island, Milton Island, Hill Island and Stovin Island.  Project work is planned to be commence in April 2020 and conclude by November 2020.  This project will be assessed with a Basic Impact Assessment.

Latest update

08 march 2020 – The public comment period on the project is closed. Parks Canada is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
