Kingston Mills Outer Weir Masonry Rehabilitation

This project involves the rehabilitation of historic masonry associated with the Outer Weir at Kingston Mills Lockstation. The work zone will be isolated by an upstream cofferdam and downstream rock check with filtration capacity. The upstream cofferdam will include an intake for a conduit to relay water to the downstream side of the work zone. The scope also includes excavation behind the walls to expose and re-point the backside of the walls. The central portion of the walls will be gravity grouted and the excavation zone will be backfilled with soil mixed with sodium bentonite to prevent future water infiltration issues. No vegetation clearing is planned.
