YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport - Permanent Modification of Runway 10-28 to a Taxiway

In order to maintain its installations to reliability and safety standards and to ensure the fluidity of operations, ADM Aéroports de Montréal is planning to change the vocation of Runway 10-28 to make it a taxiway. The runway will therefore be permanently decommissioned and used only as a taxiway.

Given the safety and capacity issues arising from the configuration of Runway 10-28, its use has decreased over the years. Since 2013, the runway has been closed several months a year and it has not been used as a runway after the end of May 2018.

The work will consist in modifying ground markings, lighting and signage in order to comply with Transport Canada requirements for a taxiway.

Additional information on this project is available on ADM's web site.
