Clowes Weir Rehabilitation, Clowes Lock station

The Clowes weir is a water control structure that allows Rideau Canal staff to manage water levels. The weir is located adjacent to the Clowes Lock and forms part of the dam. Deterioration of the masonry other structural elements has led to the need for rehabilitation in order to keep the structure in good working order. In order to access the structure water will be diverted to the adjacent lock and spillway dam, and a cofferdam will be installed on the downstream side. The work will require a temporary access road, and will involve rehabilitation of landscaping as required. The project is anticipated to begin in mid-October 2025.
