Replacement of the Southern Section of the River Wall - Saint-Jean Garrison

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project. Following an expert assessment of the retaining wall built in the 1950s, it must be replaced in the short term due to advanced deterioration and to ensure the safety of site users, thus avoiding the discharge of debris into the river. This project is a continuation of Phase 1 P20-39 Renovation of the river retaining wall, completed in summer 2023.


Latest update

December 18, 2025— The authorities issued their Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
