Maintenance and Capitalization Dredging at the Port of Valleyfield

The Port de Valleyfield is a paramunicipal organization that manages and develops the port and industrial-port area of Valleyfield. The Port de Valleyfield plans to carry out maintenance dredging and capitalization work on its wharves in order to guarantee boat access to the docks.

Over the past few years, and more specifically over the past two years, the Port de Valleyfield has received a great deal of criticism from ship captains docking at the port. They complain of hitting the seabed in many places opposite the existing docks.

The Port de Valleyfield therefore wishes to carry out maintenance dredging (approximately 3,700m3 over a surface area of some 14,400m2) and capitalization dredging (removal of some 400m3) to secure access to its existing wharves, i.e. wharves 1 to 7.

Work is scheduled from September 2025 to March 2026.
