Dock Installation - River Road, Burritt's Rapids, Rideau Canal National Historic Site

The owner of the property proposes to install a new dock on legs, oriented parallel to shore. The dimensions of the dock are 16' in length and 4' in width. The dock will be accessed by a ramp measuring 8' in width and 8' in length. These dock measurements are within the allowances of the Rideau Canal's Policies for In-Water and Shoreline Work but will lead to an increase in the footprint in/over the Rideau Canal. An evaluation of possible impacts to species at risk turtles will be included within the Impact Assessment.
