YUL Montreal-Trudeau International Airport - The addition of a building to increase baggage handling capacity and passenger service areas

The project involves adding an annex building to the domestic jetty in order to increase baggage handling capacity and improve passenger services.

 

To this end, ADM intends to build a new four-storey structure with a footprint of around 5,200 m², which will be connected to the existing terminal building at the intersection of the international and domestic jetties.

 

The building will have four levels:

  • Basement: baggage storage and technical rooms
  • Ground floor: baggage hall (quay, carousels)
  • Level 1: waiting areas and commercial spaces
  • Level 2: VIP lounges

 

Construction of the building is scheduled to begin in early 2026, while preliminary work to relocate certain underground service conduits will start in October 2025.

November 21, 2025 – ADM Aéroports de Montréal issued its Notice of Determination and determined, with the support of the Canada Infrastructure Bank, that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects by applying the mitigation measures provided for in the project.
