Construction of Building #16 at the Federal Training Center in Laval

Correctional Service Canada plans to construct a new minimum security living unit (Building #16) at the Federal Training Center in Laval to replace Blocks 6 and 7, which are being deconstructed. The main activities related to this project are: preparation of the site; supply, transportation and storage of materials and equipment; excavation and management of soils (contaminated and non-contaminated); pumping and management of excavation water (if required); relocation of existing underground networks in conflict with the construction of the building; connection of the building to existing underground networks; construction of foundations; backfilling; construction of the building itself; site restoration.

October 07, 2022 – The Correctional Service Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
