Dismantling the temporary housing camp at La Pipe Lake

The project includes the dismantling of the temporary accommodation camp at La Pipe Lake, the adjoining temporary facilities (shelters, dock, walkways, backcountry helipad), and the repatriation of material, equipment and materials to the frontcountry (for disposal or reuse). This rustic camp, which was built to facilitate access to the La Pipe Lake area as part of the aquatic ecosystem restoration program, has not been used since work in this area was completed. The dry pit privy and grey water soakaway will be decommissioned and filled with gravel, sand or soil. Screw piles will be removed without leaving a footprint or damaging the soil. Timber will be disposed of by burning by the Park's fire management service in favourable weather conditions. The entire site will be rehabilitated. Finally, the usual mitigation measures will be put in place to protect the environment throughout the works.
