Modernization of heating and ventilation systems - Drummond Institution

Correctional Service Canada (CSC) wishes to modernize the heating and ventilation systems of the buildings at Drummond Institution. Indeed, as the equipment is around forty years old, its maintenance has become laborious and expensive. To that end, the boilers of the penitentiary's thermal power plant will be replaced and a system including a field of geothermal exchangers will be installed, thus reducing the establishment's greenhouse gas (GHG) production balance. This geothermal exchangers field will include 36 wells, with a depth of 260 meters, and will be located on the north side of the buildings. Work is scheduled to begin in May 2025 and end in November 2026.
