Maintenance of the dams at Lac à la Pêche and Lac Wapizagonke, La Clairière area

The dams at Lac à la Pêche and Lac Wapizagonke (La Clairière sector) require maintenance to ensure their safety and extend their service life. The work includes repairing the caissons and wooden abutments, stabilizing the riprap downstream of the dams and at the shore supports, and controlling vegetation adjacent to and above the abutments and supports. The work is scheduled for mid-July through September, the period with the lowest risk of impact on fish.


Latest update

May 26 2026 – Parks Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Parks Canada is inviting public comments until June 25 2026 respecting that determination.
