Mississauga's of Scugog Island First Nation (MSIFN) - Microsubdivision Development

Mississauga's of Scugog Island First Nation (MSIFN) is proposing the development of a micro subdivision project involving 20 housing units ranging in size from 65 to 100 m2 (with an estimated 8,600 m2 of total construction area). Physical activities will include clearing of trees, grubbing, connection and installation of new sanitary sewer collection and potable water distribution networks to existing adjacent infrastructure, roadway construction, and construction of the 20 houses. 

Latest update

March 16, 2026 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until April 16, 2026 respecting the determination.
