Peterborough Canal Earth Dam Rehabilitation Phase II and Peterborough Lift Lock Upper Reach Sealing, TSW, Peterborough, Ontario

The project aims to rehabilitate the original canal channel from Lock 20 to McFarlane Street Bridge to ensure continued boat traffic by addressing the structural failures of existing erosion control infrastructure contributing to erosion. A key objective includes stabilizing the upper east embankment slopes and replacing mature woody vegetation with favorable low maintenance species to enhance the open park-like landscape along the canal. Additionally, the project will involve reinstating an impermeable membrane and installing sheet piling to reduce leakage at Peterborough Lift Lock Upper Reach.
