Gull River Dam 2 Repair, TSW, Minden Hills, Ontario

The proposed dam rehabilitation project is driven by the need to address structural deficiencies identified during inspections, which indicate the dam is approaching the end of its service life. While no immediate safety concerns were observed, critical components such as the sill, abutments, and center pier exhibit significant concrete deterioration, undermining, and scouring, particularly at the bedrock interface. These conditions have resulted in a "poor" asset rating for key structural elements. PCA intends to rehabilitation the dam to maintain structural integrity, prevent further degradation, and ensure continued safe operation of the dam. This project is intended to extend the dam's service life by 10–15 years and defer major maintenance, allowing for more efficient long-term planning. The project is anticipated to initiate in November 2025 with completion in advance of the 2026 spring freshet.
