Dokis First Nation - Chaudière Bridge Replacement Project

Dokis First Nation is proposing the construction of a replacement bridge on Keso Bay Road, approximately 1.8 km south of Dokis Reserve Road/ Main Street over Lower Chaudière Rapids of the French River. The proposed footprint of the bridge/ abutments/ embankments is approximately 1,229 m2 of undeveloped area and situated over 150 m2 of the French River. Physical activities include tree clearing, construction of a temporary detour road, new road alignments, and the new bridge, removal of the existing bridge, decommissioning of the temporary detour road once the new bridge is operational, and site restoration once the project is completed. 


Latest update

July 9, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until August 9, 2025 respecting the determination.
