YMCA Camp Kitchikewana Pumphouse Replacement Project

As part of the ten-year capital plan for YMCA Camp Kitchikewana, the water treatment building—essential for supplying water to the entire camp—requires replacement due to deteriorating infrastructure. Given the presence of Species at Risk and the site's rich cultural heritage, Parks staff are working in collaboration with the National Office's Archaeological team and Species at Risk advisors to ensure compliance and protection of both ecological and cultural resources. Scope of Work Includes: Demolition and reconstruction of the facility and stairs, matching the existing structure in location and size (8 ft x 16 ft); Reuse of existing water intake pipes, laid on grade; Removal of one mature white ash tree and several saplings to facilitate construction and prevent future damage to the new building.
