Boyles Cemetery to Bob Hunter Trail Construction

The Parks Canada Agency (PCA) has proposed to construct a new segment of approximately 10 km linear trail that will connect two existing trail segments, Bob Hunter Memorial Park and Boyle's cemetery. The trail is intended to be multi-use and primarily aggregate surface, with boardwalk where required in wet areas and crossings over the Little Rouge River. It will also connect with the proposed Markham Gateway Welcome Area. Fencing will be used to separate the trail from active farming operations. Pedestrian road crossings will occur at Major Mackenzie, 16th Avenue, Highway 7, 407, and 14th Avenue. Routing options around or through private property with owner's permission and a small capacity parking lot on Major Mac or 16th Ave will be investigated.
