Wahta Mohawk Housing Subdivision Project

Wahta Mohawk is located near the town of Bala, Ontario approximately 200km north of Toronto. The Wahta Mohawk is proposing the development and servicing of seven lots located on reserve in the Fall of 2022 into the winter of 2023. This project is intended to satisfy the community's need for immediate housing. The project will consist of clearing the land of vegetation and installing all infrastructure required for a subdivision, including but not limited to: electrical utilities, drilling wells, septic, road creation and resurfacing, the installation of piers required for modular housing, backfilling and landscaping.

Notice of Determination 

 January 24, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its notice of determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
