Shared Services Canada Upgrades - 22 Wing North Bay

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project. The purpose of this project is to install aerial and buried telecommunications infrastructure including underground vaults and interconnected duct banks. Construction will include the following activities:

  • Excavation of trenches.
  • Installation of concrete encased ducts and conduit.
  • Installation of NEMA boxes, telecommunications vaults and manholes.
  • Installation of telecommunications room infrastructure.
  • Installation of aerial telecommunicaitons infrastructure.

Upon completion of the work the affected areas will cleaned and re-instated to original conditions, as practicable.

Latest update

August 17, 2025 – The public comment period on the project is closed. The Department of National Defence is considering comments received to help inform its determination on whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
