Ontario Line Project

Metrolinx is proposing the construction and operation of a new 15.6-kilometre transit line located in Toronto, Ontario. As proposed, the Ontario Line Project would run from the Ontario Science Centre to Exhibition/Ontario Place, passing through downtown. Over half of the line would run through underground tunnels while the remainder would run along elevated structures and existing surface rail corridors. The project would include 15 stations, with dozens of connections to existing local and regional transit networks to support the transportation of passengers. Six of those 15 stations would connect with existing local and regional stations.

Latest update

April 16, 2021 — The Minister of Environment and Climate Change has determined that the Ontario Line Project proposed by Metrolinx does not warrant designation under the Impact Assessment Act. The reasons for the Minister’s determination are provided in the Minister’s response.
