Toronto Wildlife Centre Facility Construction

The proposed development is to accommodate the relocation of the Toronto Wildlife Centre from its current, temporary location. The facility will contain various rehabilitation rooms for various species, surgical, assessment and diagnostic rooms, a call centre, a public education display area, offices, a laundry area, staff areas, storage rooms, and 2 integral garages for rescue staff. An outdoor education and display area is located in front of the facility. Six outdoor fenced rehabilitation areas are planned: one space is located on the south side of the facility, with the others located on the eastern and southern portion of the subject lands. The proposed 2-storey rehabilitation facility will have a total gross floor area of 4859m², and the proposed 3-storey intern residence will have a total gross floor area of 518 m² within a free-standing building. The total gross floor area for the entire proposal is 5376 m². Access to the rehabilitation facility will be from a driveway from Steeles Avenue East.
