Region of Peel East to West Wastewater Diversion Project

The Region of Peel is constructing the East to West Diversion Sanitary Trunk Sewer, a 2400 mm diameter trunk sewer, within the City of Mississauga. It spans 11 km travelling along Derry Road, Old Derry Road, Old Creditview Road, and Creditview Road starting east of Bramalea Road and ending at Argentia Road. The trunk sewer will connect the Region's East Trunk Sanitary System to the West Trunk Sanitary System with the purpose of balancing the Region's sanitary collection system and wastewater plants' demand to accommodate planned future growth in the Region of Peel

There will be a total of seven tunnel access shafts located along the sewer route to facilitate the planned Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) work. MH1 connection shaft at the west side of Spring Creek north of Derry Road will connect to the existing 1650mm diameter and 1200mm diameter trunk sewers. This location is on airport property and therefore only this location will be assessed under the Impact Assessment Act.
