Pretty Channel Dams Stabilization

The project involves stabilizing the current dam by installing post tensioned anchors on the spillway and placing rockfill on the downstream side of the Main Dam right abutment and the Side Dam. The rockfill will be ferried to the work site where an excavator will place it directly on the abutments. The post-tensioned anchors will be installed from the existing operating deck of the dam. The sectional barge will be outfitted with offboard spuds which anchors the barge to the lakebed. After the stabilization, the walkways and the handrails at the Dams will be replaced. To provide snowmobile access across the dam, the new steel frame walkway will be widened to allow passage.
