Wharf repairs and building demolition

Bridgemans Services Group LP (the Applicant) proposes temporary substructure repairs and the demolition of the existing building(s) at the wharf fronting 2285 Commissioner Street, Vancouver. The Applicant is referring to this work as Phase II of their plan to redevelop the wharf. Phase I was approved under PER 25-074 and included a preliminary site investigation, the installation of a construction trailer/container, and a gangway to connect marine equipment to the site. Phase III would involve the redevelopment of the wharf.

Works will occur both below the high-water level and upland/over-water:

  • Below the High-water level: Substructure repairs to facilitate safe access to demolition equipment (excavators).
  • Upland/over-water: Demolition of existing buildings and termination of associated utilities

Phase II is expected to take approximately 2 months to complete upon permit issuance, during standard construction hours, Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Project is in an industrial area designated as a port terminal. All activities will be carried out during the regional least-risk work window for the protection of fish and fish habitat (August 16 to February 28). Waste and debris materials will be disposed of at appropriate upland licensed facilities.
