Rail yard expansion - DP World Fraser Surrey

To support growth at DP World Fraser Surrey and Fraser Grain Terminal, additional rail arrival, departure, and storage trackage is proposed in the Port Authority Rail Yard (PARY), which is adjacent the terminal, to the east. This project proposes to extend the existing PARY rail siding tracks towards the north, taking the total yard trackage from 23,600 feet, to 42,540. This work includes the following components.

  • Partially demolishing and realigning the existing B026 trackwork, west of the previous Republic Rabanco facility;
  • Reconfiguring PARY Track 93: Removing one (1) turnout and realignment of trackage;
  • Reconfiguring and extending six existing PARY tracks – Tracks 94 to 99; and
  • Constructing new utility protection for Metro Vancouver's sanitary line: partially demolishing the existing un-piled utility protection slab under Tracks 93, and adding two (2) cap beams, founded on a total of approximately 42 helical piles, which will support a mix of pre-cast concrete panels and cast-in-place slabs over the sanitary line.

Surrey, B.C. – February 2, 2026 - The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed Rail yard expansion located at 11060 Elevator Road, Surrey BC is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
