Lytton First Nation - Stein Water System Intake Improvements Project

  • The Lytton Creek wildfire in June of 2021 resulted in the destruction of residences in the Lytton First Nation (LFN) community, impacting LFN community members. Subsequent reconstruction and subdivision to accommodate the destroyed homes has resulted in planning for additional development within the community. Although there is an existing water intake on Stein River that currently feeds the Water Treatment Plant, it is nearing the end of its service life and design capacity and requires replacement to meet the growing needs of the community as it rebuilds.
  • The existing raw water intake and Booster Station 1 do not provide adequate capacity for the growing and migrating population.
  • The installation of a new intake from the Stein River, as well as a small booster station and alignment of the watermain to connect the new intake to the existing system is being proposed.
