Pile Removal - Harken Towing Fraser Surrey Basin

Proposed Project

The proposed project consists of removing 26 x 914-millimetre diameter steel piles and approximately 15 non-treated wooden piles of various sizes within three leased water-lots in the Fraser Surrey Basin, generally located directly west of the Fraser Surrey Port Lands.

Proposed works:

  • Mobilization of a derrick barge, support barge, crew boat and support tug to site
  • Remove piles using a vibratory hammer and placing on a flat-top barge for disposal

The proposed works are expected to take approximately 10 working days to complete and will be conducted during normal construction hours, Monday to Friday.

Surrey, B.C. – March 5, 2026 – The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed Pile removal – Harken Towing Fraser Surrey Basin located generally at the 10500 block of Timberland Rd, Surrey BC is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
