Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites Transportation Upgrades

Currently, there are no public transportation options for visitors travelling to Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites, and no nearby bus routes or bike lanes. The closest public transportation stop is two kilometers away.
The Project aims to enhance public transportation access by exploring the addition of a crosswalk with flashing crossing beacons on Ocean Boulevard, connecting to an existing exit path that will be formalized as the new pedestrian and cyclist entry to Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites. Dedicated crosswalks, curb cuts, and sidewalks will be added to the existing parking lot. Curbs will be cut back around corners to accommodate BC Transit buses, and a new bus stop will be added in front of the Welcome Centre building. The parking lot washrooms will be renovated into universal washrooms.
