Timber harvesting on MOUNT CURRIE 6

March 7, 2024 – The Indigenous Services Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project, Timber harvesting on MOUNT CURRIE 6,  is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting public comments until April 08, 2024 respecting that determination.  alexandre.vignola@sac-isc.gc.ca

Notice determination

April 26 2024 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Timber harvesting on MOUNT CURRIE 6 is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;

Indigenous knowledge;

community knowledge;

comments received from the public; mitigation measure.

Implementation of mitigation measures is required for the project to address:

             Land, Soil, Vegetation, Wildlife, Water features, Air.

Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Therefore, Indigenous Services Canada may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
