Maintenance dredging - Teal-Jones waterlot

Teal-Jones Group on behalf of Columbia River Shake & Shingle Ltd. proposes to conduct routine maintenance dredging within their waterlot fronting 17897 Trigg Road, Surrey, BC. The dredged area would be approximately 2,750 square metres with an approximate dredge volume of 4,000 cubic metres of accumulated sediment and wood waste per year. The targeted dredge grade would up to -4 metres Local Low Water.  The area was most recently dredged in January 2024 and the proposed dredge footprint and depth remain unchanged from previous years.

 

Dredging would be conducted using a clamshell bucket from a barge mounted derrick. Dredge material would be transported for disposal at an approved disposal at sea site under a valid Disposal at Sea permit per the Canadian Environmental Protection Act. The applicant is seeking a multi-year permit to dredge periodically.

Surrey, B.C. – April 14, 2025 – The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (the Port Authority) and Environment and Climate Change Canada have determined that the proposed Maintenance dredging – Teal-Jones waterlot located at 17897 Trigg Road, Surrey, BC is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
