Combi-wall installation - CIPA Lumber

Fraser River Pile & Dredge (GP) Inc., on behalf of CIPA Lumber (the Applicant) proposes to conduct bank stabilization works to install a combination wall comprised of sheet-pile and steel pipe piles riverward of an existing compromised sheet pile wall at 797 Carlisle Road, Delta, BC. The project would consist of the following:
 

  • Install a combi-wall (i.e., comprised of a combination of sheet-piles and steel pipe piles) riverward of the existing compromised sheet pile wall.
  • Once the combi-wall is installed, fill material would be placed in the interstice of the proposed and existing (compromised) sheet pile wall and would extend landward, overtop of the existing wall, to the existing concrete slab supporting the building.
  • Potentially removing up to five recently installed steel pipe piles to facilitate installation of the new wall (as required).


The works will be conducted via a marine spud derrick equipped with a vibratory hammer for the sheet-piles and steep pipe piles and a clam-shell bucket for the placement of fill material overtop of the completed wall. Pile driving will be conducted during daytime hours, however nighttime works may be required to facilitate welding of the piles during low tides.

Delta, B.C. – October 7 2025 – The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed Combi-wall installation - CIPA Lumber located at 797 Carlisle Road, Delta BC is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
