Project Overview

Several cutblocks and associated roads are being proposed within the Traditional Territory of the Skatin Nation. These cutblocks are within the boundaries of three different Indian Reserves; the Skookumchuck 4 , the Skookumchuck 4a , and the Morteen 9. It is to be noted that some of the blocks within the Skookumchuck 4a IR overlap with the Skatin Nations Woodlot (W1786). See table below for block summaries per each reserve.

Notice of intent to make a determination

Harvesting of timber on Skookumchuck 4 – Public Comments Invited

January 8, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed  timber harvesting  on Skookumchuck 4 located in British Columbia is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

Written comments must be submitted by February 7, 2025 to:
