Lytton First Nation - Nuuautin IR2B Subdivision & Stein Water System Improvement Project

  • Lytton First Nation (LFN) is looking to provide new housing for those who were forced to evacuate due to the destructive Lytton Creek Wildfire in 2021. After careful consideration of the community's preferences and potential impacts on local archeological sites, it was decided that the Nuuautin IR2B location would be the best option for the development of a 28 lot subdivision, with the possibility of expanding to 34 lots in the future.
  • To ensure water infrastructure is sustainable and to accommodate anticipated population growth, a new water reservoir will be built in Kleetlekut IR 22 to provide water for the Phase 2 Subdivision in Nuuatin IR 2B and future expansion in Lytton.
  • A booster pump station, water supply main, slow sand filter cell treatment facility, and backup power improvements will be included in this project.
  • The proponent has applied to Environment and Climate Change Canada for a Species at Risk Act permit under section 73(3).
  • The proponent has applied for funding from Indigenous Services Canada's Community Infrastructure program for the construction of the proposed project.
