Coast Salish demonstration garden

Wild Bird Trust of BC working on behalf of Environment Canada (the "Applicant") is proposing to construct an approximately 600 square metre demonstration garden and outdoor classroom to support education programming and showcase native BC plants at Maplewood Flats in North Vancouver. As part of the project, new pathways, a garden, rain garden, work/picnic table, seating and teaching area would be installed. Approximately 112 cubic metres of existing fill would need to be excavated to create new pathways, install perforated drainage pipes to accommodate rainwater management and install concrete footings for outdoor furniture. Construction would be conducted during regular work hours using hand tools and small machinery and take approximately one year to complete.
