Unexploded Explosive Ordnance (UXO) Removal and Geophysical Survey - Valcartier Military Base

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project at Valcartier Military Base. The work involves the removal of Unexploded Explosive Ordnance (UXO) and Geophysical Survey of the former Anti-tank firing range located in the Residential Housing Units (RHUs) woodland behind Garceau Street. Clearance will be carried out manually by two or four UXO technicians equipped with metal detectors and hand shovels.

September 16, 2025— The authorities issued their Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
