Municipality of Lambton Shores Fuel System Replacement at Grand Bend

The Municipality of Lambton Shores intends to replace the fuel tanks at Grand Bend Small Craft Harbour. Grand Bend Small Craft Harbour is located on the southeast shore of Lake Huron at the mouth of the Ausable River in Grand Bend, Ontario approximately 220 km west of Toronto, Ontario. 

The work will take place on federal lands where the existing underground storage tanks, fuel dispensers, and related piping will be removed and disposed of. A new 25 000 L  aboveground tank and fuel dispensers will be installed in the current location. Excavated fill material will be stockpiled for reuse at the site, any excess materials will be hauled to an approved facility.

February 2, 2026 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
