Trail Reroute and Ecological Trail Restoration

Fundy National Park is planning to rehabilitate the back loop of the Dickson Falls Hiking Trail that travels within the Dickson Brook riparian area. A section of the trail (36m) collapsed a number of years ago and users have been walking directly in the stream. Due to unstable conditions the back loop was permanently closed in 2019 reducing the trail experience by half. Trail infrastructure including pedestrian bridges, staircases and viewing platforms are scheduled to be remove and the trail tread scarified, reshaped and planted. A new trail alignment and 1 pedestrian bridge will be constructed to replace the restored trail.
