Harbour Repairs and Dredging, Burnt Church, NB

The proposed project will include the addition of armour stones alongside existing wharf structure #404 (approximately 900 m2), installation of floating wharves with concrete blocks for anchoring, repairs to wharf structure #404, dredging within the harbour basin adjacent to wharf structure #404 (approximately 975 m2) and placement of dredged material within the containment cell at Neguac Small Craft Harbour. The project is anticipated to be completed in one month or before July 1st, 2020. Project commencement is subject to DFO-SCH operational priorities and funding, as well as the receipt of other regulatory approval processes, which could delay the completion of the project to March 2025.

April 6 , 2020 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada- Small Craft Harbours (DFO-SCH) intends to make a determination regarding whether carrying out of the project Harbour Repairs and Dredging, located in Burnt Church Small Craft Harbour is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, DFO-SCH is inviting public comments in respect to that determination for 30 days following the posting of this notice.
