Green Gables Golf Course Netting Installation

Green Gables golf course fairway # 18 runs between the Green Gables National Historic Site and a cottage rental operation. Errant golf balls from the tee box have increasingly found themselves in both locations presenting a real public safety issue for both groups of visitors. In order to protect both sites, two nets will be erected on either side of the fairway forward of the tee box to prevent errant balls from injuring visitors. The nets will be 20 and 25 meters long and five and 10 meters tall respectively. Nets will be hoisted in place using pulleys in the late spring and dropped in mid fall. Monitoring the nets will take place twice daily to look for any entangled bird or bad species.
