Dorchester Penitentiary - Indoor Firing Range Construction

The Correctional Service Canada is proposing to undertake the construction of a new indoor firing range on the Dorchester Penitentiary property, located in Dorchester, New Brunswick. The range would be used to qualify correctional officers on the current platform of firearms and maintain regional training requirements.

The proposed project would involve the construction of a new building with concrete footings, concrete walls and a steel roof, accessed by a new gated paved driveway and surrounded by perimeter ditching. The site would be graded to level the property prior to construction. The building would have electrical heating, be connected to the existing municipal water supply and would include construction of a new septic system.
