Cunard Bypass Trestle Bridge

Southwest Properties is proposing to construct a temporary trestle bridge across Halifax Port Authority lands adjacent to a construction area along the Halifax waterfront. The temporary trestle bridge will allow pedestrians to access the boardwalk while the Cunard building is under construction. The trestle bridge will consist of 18 timber piles supporting timber cross bracing, wheel guard, and decking and will occupy an area of 84 m2 within Halifax Port Authority lands.

Latest update

March 2, 2021 – The Halifax Port Authority and Transport Canada have determined that the proposed work associated with the temporary trestle bridge on Halifax Port Authority managed lands is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Therefore, Southwest Properties may carry out the project.
