Sand Trap Dredging, Pointe -Sapin Small Craft Harbour, New Brunswick

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Small Craft Harbours is proposing to dredge material from within the sand trap (between the eastern wharf and breakwater) at the Small Craft Harbour in Pointe-Sapin, New Brunswick during the winter of 2020. The total dredge area is approximately 13,500 square meters, with an expected dredge volume of approximately 30,000 cubic meters. Dredging will be carried out by an excavator working from land, with the dredge material being placed into trucks for transport and placement on the eroding beach area south of the small craft harbour. The project, which occurs on an annual basis, is anticipated to take up to three months to complete (between the months of January and March, 2020).
