Deconstruction of 12 Buildings, Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot (CFAD) Bedford, Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Halifax, Nova Scotia

DND is proposing to carry out deconstruction of the following 12 buildings located within the administrative area of CFAD Bedford: BM30/33, BM89, BM154, BM156, BM157, BM158, BM159, BM161, BM163, BM165, BM166 and BM167. Building footprints range from approximately 10 square metres (m2) to 550 m2. The proposed project is expected to consist of hazardous materials abatement, building demolition including removal of below grade structures, offsite disposal of hazardous and construction and demolition (C&D) waste and backfill/site restoration activities. Deconstruction activities are planned to commence Fall/Winter 2020/2021.


Latest update

December 15, 2020 – The Department of National Defence issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
