Charlottetown Airport Terminal Expansion - Phase 2/3

Phases 2 and 3 of the Charlottetown Airport Terminal expansion, located at 250 Maple Hills Avenue, will extend the existing terminal structure to the east. This project will increase the size of the post-security area, incorporating a new food and beverage space, upgraded washrooms, additional seating, more gates, and expanded queuing areas. As part of the expansion, the current pre-board screening area will be reconfigured to improve passenger flow and visibility throughout the terminal.

During construction, stormwater runoff and sediment control measures will be provided by the site contractor, as required, and reviewed by the Airport Authority on a regular basis. All municipal, provincial and federal codes, standards, and best management practices will be followed. The expansion is within previously developed areas (i.e., existing apron or landscaped area) with no woodland or known sensitive ecological habitat being impacted.

Latest update

June 12, 2025 - Charlottetown Airport Authority intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Charlottetown Airport Authority is inviting public comments until July 13, 2025 respecting that determination.

July 14, 2025 - Charlotteotwn Airport Authority issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
