Chanel Dredging at Escuminac Small Craft Harbour

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Small Craft Harbours is proposing to dredge material from the entrance channel to the Small Craft Harbour facility in Escuminac, Northumberland County, New Brunswick, during the spring of 2020.The total dredge area is approximately 5,000 square meters, with an expected dredge volume of approximately 6,000 cubic meters. Dredging will be carried out using floating dredge equipment with the material being pumped via pipeline to the adjacent intertidal zone, west of the small craft harbour. The project, which occurs on an occasional basis, is anticipated to take up to two weeks to complete (between the months of April and June, 2020).

April 8, 2020 - Fisheries and Oceans Canada- Small Craft Harbours has issued its Notice of Determination after evaluation of the project Chanel Dredging at Escumianc Small Craft Harbour and has determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects with mitigation measures as outlined in their evaluation and can therefore proceed.
