Cold Storage Warehouse, Port of Saint John, New Brunswick

NovaCold Logistics, ULC cob Americold (Americold) is proposing to construct and operate a new cold storage warehouse (the Project) at the Port in the coming months. The proposed warehouse will be approximately 17,733 m2 (190,875 ft2) in area and 18.6 m (60' 2") in height located on Lot X near Pier 13/14 on the West Side of the Port. Subject to acceptable commercial terms and environmental performance, it is proposed that Americold would enter into a long-term leasing arrangement with the Saint John Port Authority (the Port Authority). The purpose of the Project is to fulfill a societal need to improve and stabilize the food sector supply chain by increasing cold storage capabilities on Canada's East Coast. Significant disruptions in the supply chain that were experienced during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic have elevated the need to secure additional cold storage warehousing capabilities in North America to protect people from supply disruptions similar to those which were experienced during the pandemic as well as any future scenarios.
